Explaining that because Betsy (his wife) injured her finger, Scott is writing to Mrs. McCulloch with news that Betsy would normally have conveyed. Discussing the marriage of his daughter Jessie to Major Huxley and describing her new household; reporting that he and Betsy are "completely well satisfied with the connexion;" asking her to inform Mr. Gray about the marriage; reporting that his son Walter "is turning out every thing that as Parents we could wish."
